Humble Beginnings
A number of people have owned an/or operated the café since it was built in 1940. The late Jack Lavine was its first proprietor after its construction. Ray and Evelyn Harmon followed the Lavine's ownership, and it was during their tenure that Kiester old-timers, most now deceased, fondly recalled a very exclusive "card room" in the café's basement! Adval and Gert Trustem took over after the Harmans, running it through the 1950s and into the 1960s. Ervin and Delores Trytten became proprietors. Roger Oldfather purchased the café from them in 1967 and ran it until 1977, when he sold it to Julie Wigern. Julie put both her heart and soul into the establishment, moving it forward until 2003, when Brandon and Jean Hagenson became owners and operated until 2006.

Kee Kafe Catering is currently family owned by Jerry & Michele Alphs since 2013. We have converted to strictly catering, baked goods and special orders. Our food truck, Bummys BBQ is busy serving you (almost) year round! And don't forget about our famous Holiday cookie Trays, custom baked goods, monthly bakery days and more. We are always available to serve up your food needs, whatever you require. Looking for a small venue (up to 40) to host a meeting, gathering, appreciation meal, etc., give us a call, we've got you covered.
